Tickets for the Hop-on Hop-off bus Barcelona
Especially during peak season, it can get very crowded, so it’s wise to buy your tickets for the tourist bus online in advance to avoid waiting in line at the ticket counters. There are various types of tickets available, which I have listed for you below.
Please note: There are two different providers. The tickets from Barcelona Bus Turístic below are valid per calendar day, not per 24 hours.
Barcelona Bus Turístic
1. Basic ticket 1 day
A day pass (1 day) for the tourist bus allows you unlimited use of the Hop-on Hop-off bus for one day. This ticket costs €33.
- Secure payment with Paypal or credit card
- Free modification or cancellation
2. Basic ticket 2 days
You can also buy a ticket for two days instead of one day. In that case you can make unlimited use of the service for two days. At our cooperation partner Tiqets you get a discount and pay €42. First select a date and then the ticket for 2 days. Note that these are always two consecutive days.

Hop-on Hop-off bus routes and map
Barcelona Bus Turístic
The Barcelona Bus Turístic runs throughout the year along two different routes (red and blue). In high season, between March and November, a third route is added (the green line). Note that the buses run a round trip, so they only do this route in one direction. It may be helpful to be aware of this when planning your day on the tourist bus.
So in total there are 2 routes and 30 stops, including 4 interchanges. The bus runs – depending on the time of year – every 15 to 25 minutes. Both the red and blue routes take about two hours, so you could do both routes in one day and also get off a (few) times along the way.
The blue route takes you past the major modernist highlights and drives past Camp Nou. The red route goes over Montjuïc, the port and through part of the old town. The green contains no real major sights and mostly drives along the beach. If you have enough time, still fun to do!
Here you can see the two routes that the bus takes.
You will also receive a map of the routes with your ticket.
Tip: download the Barcelona Bus Turístic app, then you’ll see at a glance what the different routes are and which sights you’ll pass.

Hop-on Hop-off bus or regular public transportation?
If you don’t want to plan too much yourself on your city trip in Barcelona or if you’re are only there for a very short time, we definitely recommend taking the Hop-on Hop-off bus for one day or two days.
Would you rather make your own plans and not depend on the routes and times of the Hop-on Hop-off bus? Then regular public transportation might be a better choice.
A very handy discount card is the Barcelona Card. With the Barcelona Card you can travel an unlimited number of times for free with public transport (but not with the Hop-on Hop-off bus). You also get discounts at more than 70 sights, tours, attractions and restaurants. With this card you can decide where to go, the Hop-on Hop-off bus drives a fixed route.
